What is changing with eBooks?

The way in which we access our eBooks will be going through some changes in the coming months.

Many of the eBooks currently in our online collection in eBook Central will be moved over to EBSCOhost eBooks and Databases. During this period we are doing our best to ensure you will always have access to the online eBooks in our collection and will provide clear updates on when and where things will change.

This change is happening due to some updates occurring with our existing eBook platform, eBook Central (ProQuest), and we are working to ensure staff and students continue to have access to the best and most relevant materials in our online databases.

Can I still access eBooks through eBook Central?

Yes, all eBooks that the library owns remain accessible through eBook Central for now. Access as usual applies.

Where can I find more eBooks?

To view a wider range of eBook titles, use EBSCOhost eBooks and Databases from our A-Z Databases page. You will be able to search books as below:

How can I read books online with EBSCO?

Just like eBook Central, you can read EBSCO ebooks through their online interface. See more on reading books in this tutorial.

Can I still download books for offline reading?

Yes, if access terms are permitted by the publisher, you will still be able to download and view a book for offline reading from both EBSCO and eBook Central. Details will follow about a new ebook reader, Thorium, to be released.

I want to make a request to purchase an eBook for the library's collection?

Yes, you can still do this using our Resource Request form and we will do our best to ensure we can provide you with the title in a timely manner, provided it meets the collection criteria.
