How do I connect to wi-fi?
Answer
There are two Wi-Fi networks for staff and students called BKI-Public and BKI-Wireless.
When you choose the BKI-Public network on your device, an internet browser window will open on a page where you must accept the terms and conditions. Once you have accepted, you will be connected to the network. You do not need to enter your student ID or password. You may need to close all open browser windows before you choose the network. BKI-Public will grant users access to the internet, however, user will not have access to BKI network systems.
When you choose BKI-Wireless you will be required to log in with your username and password and will provide access to BKI network related services not just internet access.
If you are have trouble connecting your laptop:
Try opening a different browser and then connecting to the Wi-Fi, to see if the approval page comes up.
Play around with anti-virus firewall settings, as the security settings may be blocking the unsecure or "untrusted" connection.
A session is limited to five hours after which you will be logged out. To continue your session you will need to reconnect.
The public WiFi is available for students during the following times:
Monday - Thursday 7:00 am – 9:30 pm
Friday 7:00 am – 7:00 pm
Saturday 7:00 am – 5:30 pm
Contact Library staff if you require assistance.
